Where does the Bible say that Jesus died because we were beautiful and worth it? I thought we were at war with God and while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We aren't beautiful or worthy of anything except hell, and yet God loved us enough to sacrifice His life to propitiate our sins. It seems like your message is here is really opposite of what Romans 5:7-8 says. It says we are not worth dying for and Christ did it anyway.
With songs like this, it's no wonder everyone is bailing on the church.
We were/are beautiful according to Genesis 1:27, 31 and Psalm 139:14.
Our beauty was mucked up by sin and we became unworthy of God's love. But because of God's grace and mercy, our beauty can be restored if only we accept this grace. (Romans 6:23)
A lot of people reject this grace because they think that their sin is too great. But God's grace is offered freely and equally to each one no matter how worthless we see ourselves and that is the point of this song.
John 3:16 sums up the love he has for us! We are worth it! We are beautiful! Jesus knew us way before and he knew we would mess up but he wanted us so he took all our screw ups with him to the cross! God is just amazing and his love is bigger than we even know! This is an awesome song! I'm so happy that I don't have to worry about condemnation. I can live each day getting closer to his realm and having an awesome relationship...all that worrying about nonsense sin is just crazy when Jesus already washed it all away :)

We the "the children of God" are worthy because he "Christ Jesus" made us worthy....we are worthy to praise our Lord!
